You’re 90 Seconds Away From A Calmer Mind

14 Apr

Raise your hand if you wish you were somewhere tropical right about now.

If we’re all being honest, a relaxing escape sounds pretty appealing — especially when we’re battling chaotic calendars like so many of us do on a daily basis. It’s no surprise we feel this way, either. We’re naturally wired to feel better in nature. Research shows just a brief walk outdoors can lower your stress and even reduce symptoms of depression.

Since we all can’t run away to the rainforest or the beach during the week — let alone in the middle of the workday — let the calming meditation video above provide a brief mental vacation. Match your breath with the waxing and waning of the tide. Clear your mind of unread emails and think of an affirming mantra to concentrate on instead.

Most importantly, allow the serene pause to bring a little relaxation into your hectic day. It’s only 90 seconds. You deserve it.

This GPS Guide is part of a series of posts designed to bring you back to balance when you’re feeling off course.

GPS Guides are our way of showing you what has relieved others’ stress in the hopes that you will be able to identify solutions that work for you. We all have de-stressing “secret weapons” that we pull out in times of tension or anxiety, whether they be photos that relax us or make us smile, songs that bring us back to our heart, quotes or poems that create a feeling of harmony or meditative exercises that help us find a sense of silence and calm. We encourage you to visit our other GPS Guides here, and share with us your own personal tips for finding peace, balance and tranquility.
